Fresh from the garden: nourishment for today, abundance for tomorrow, and plenty to share.

Welcome! I'm glad you're here!

This is a blog about gardening—and about becoming more human while your hands are in the soil.

Yes, we’ll talk about tomatoes and spinach, herbs and harvests. But In My Garden is really about what grows in us when we choose to tend something slowly, imperfectly, and with care.

I’m an ICF Master Certified Coach by trade and an avid backyard gardener by joy. Over the years, I’ve noticed something: the same practices that grow strong plants also grow resilient people. Gardening has taught me more about courage, creativity, patience, and hope than any textbook ever could.

This blog is where those worlds meet.

More Than Food

Gardening feeds the body—but it also feeds the nervous system, the imagination, and the spirit.

  • Resilience grows when a late frost wipes out your seedlings and you plant again anyway.

  • Courage shows up when you try something new, not knowing if it will thrive.

  • Creativity emerges when you cook what’s ripe, adapt to what’s available, and make beauty out of abundance.

In the garden, progress isn’t linear. Growth is seasonal. Rest matters. Failure is information. And generosity multiplies joy.

What You’ll Find In My Garden

Each post is an invitation—not to do gardening right, but to do it with intention.

Every entry includes:

  • Tips for growth – what’s working in my Zone 6 backyard (and what definitely didn’t)

  • Simple recipes – practical, flexible, and rooted in what’s actually coming out of the garden

  • Ways to share the goodness – with neighbors, friends, family, or anyone who might need a little extra nourishment

Because abundance is meant to move.

My Philosophy

Eat some. Save some. Share some.

This isn’t just about food preservation (though we’ll do plenty of that). It’s a way of living:

  • Enjoy what you grow.

  • Prepare for what’s ahead.

  • Let generosity be part of the harvest.

Gardens remind us that we rarely grow anything alone—and that the best yields often come when we loosen our grip and share.

Gloves Optional

In My Garden is a place for curiosity, experimentation, and quiet joy.

No perfection required. No green thumb credentials needed.

Just a willingness to notice what’s growing—outside and in.

If you’ve ever felt calmer after weeding, braver after trying something new, or more connected while sharing a meal made from what you grew… you’re in the right place.

Welcome to the garden.

Growing with you,

Cindy
